Dat has over 20 years experience in pharmaceutical engineering, validation and technical services.   He is innovative, energetic and possesses strong technical and leadership skills. He has a broad background and extensive knowledge of solid dose pharmaceutical technology.  

EXPERIENCE…

  • Hands on experience with development and validation of fluid bed coating of pellets/tablets/granules, roller compaction, high shear granulation, hydrogel, and wax-matrix tablets.
  • Performed IQ/OQ/PQ of various equipment including fluid bed coaters, tab coaters, tablet presses, granulators, encapsulators, tank/mixers, ovens, packaging lines, and support utilities
  • Responsible for initiation, development and management of a validation department at a pharmaceutical manufacturing organization that successfully validated all equipment, utilities and facilities of a 250,000 sq. ft. production facility and a 100,000 sq. ft. warehouse.
  • Key member of the management team that developed a new pharmaceutical operation from a start-up to the 5th fastest growing domestic company in 2000.
  • Started and built a technical services department that successfully scaled up and validated several complex, controlled release solid dose products.
  • Led inter-departmental product launch teams for a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
  • Managed and provided hands on support of team that was responsible for scale up, optimization and validation of controlled release solids dose processes.
  • Transferred and validated solids dose product and processes to worldwide subsidiaries and licensees.
  • Performed trouble shooting and optimized existing product and processes.   Solved poor dose uniformity of potent, low dose tablets.   Developed and validated power end point for high shear granulation.
  • Specified, purchased and validated required production equipment.
  • Developed and scaled up controlled released (microencapsulation) formulation and processes.
  • Supervised operation of esterification production operation.
  • Perfromed bench scale optimization and start-up of bulk chemical processes
